The language nicknamed "Fae" defies anglo-transliteration. It is full of sounds and rules that contemporary humans are not trained to hear or understand, vowels and consonents that become each other based on context and meaning. As an example, vowels form strands that ascend or descend with emphasis; consonants like t, th, and dh seem indistinguishable to the untrained ear, but represent key subtleties in meaning and intent. The categorization of temporal tenses remains ongoing: the past, present, and future seem organized non-linearly, as if structured along some other nigh-incomprehensible axis of cause and effect. Our team has agreed, not without disagreement, to use the term "past-future" in translation to reflect this difficulty, as the being documented as Dheli-TAU speaks as if the letter is composed in a moment that has happened, will happen, will not happen, is not happening -- all of which are, apparently, important aspects of positioning within spacetime. Given that the letter exists in a to-date paltry set of examples of this language, complete translation will likely remain impossible. We can, as always, only do our best.
